'Holes In The Floor Of Heaven' Grand Ole Opry Performance From Steve Wariner

Steve Wariner gives a great performance of his song ‘Holes In The Floor Of Heaven’ at the Grand Ole Opry in honor of the late Opry house band member Jimmy Capps.

“One day shy of eight years old, when grandma passed away.
I was a broken-hearted little boy, blowing out that birthday cake.
How I cried when the sky let go, with a cold lonesome rain.
My mom smiled, said: ‘Don't be sad child. Grandma's watching you today.’

Cause there's holes in the floor of Heaven, and her tears are pouring down.
That's how you know she's watching, wishing she could be here now.
An' sometimes if you're lonely, just remember she can see.
There's holes in the floor of Heaven, and she's watching over you and me."

Steve Wariner is an American country music artist and began his solo career in the late 1970s. He has released eighteen studio albums and over fifty singles for several different record labels. He has also won three Country Music Association awards, one Academy of Country Music award, and is a member of the Grand Ole Opry.

Jimmy Capp, who recently passed away at the age of 81, was also a legendary guitarist and member of the Grand Ole Opry. Jimmy performed with almost every 20th century country music artist and has strummed on some of the most famous songs of the genre. One of the rehearsal spaces at the Grand Ole Opry is dedicated to him as it is called the “Jimmy Capps Music Room.”

“I’m a huge fan and ‘Holes In The Floor Of Heaven’ is such a beautiful song,” comments one person on YouTube. “It was such a touching tribute to Jimmy Capps with his guitars on stage and this song. Thank You so much for sharing this with us.”

“One of Steve's most impactful songs. Fitting tribute to recently departed Jimmy Capps. RIP,” writes another person online. “Love the display of Jimmy's guitars on stage.”

We hope you enjoyed this beautiful tribute by Steve Wariner for the talented Jimmy Capp.
