130-Person Choir Sings 'Chain Breaker' During Flight To Hawaii

In this video, a 130-person choir sings a beautiful rendition of the song ‘Chain Breaker’ by Zach Williams during a flight.

“If you've got pain
He's a pain taker
If you feel lost
He's a way maker
If you need freedom or saving
He's a prison-shaking Savior
If you've got chains
He's a chain breaker”

One of the students in the choir recorded a small clip of the performance and shared it online. “My university’s 130-person choir was on our way to O’ahu for tour when one of the flight attendants asked us to sing. Enjoy!” writes the choir member on the video that they posted on Tik Tok.

The sound of all the students singing is powerful to hear, and they sound so beautiful with all the harmonies that can be heard throughout the plane. This must have been an inspiring moment to witness!

Zach Williams, the writer behind ‘Chain Breaker,’ shares how he wanted to use the song to reach people who had been struggling. “It speaks to believers as much as it does to non-believers because we all get to places in our lives where we get lukewarm, and we just kind of forget what God’s done in our life,” Williams explains. “The song is very much the truths of who Jesus is."

When he was writing this song, Zach was doing prison ministry with his church, and he thought that the name ‘Chain Breaker’ would be a cool title for the song. “What an awesome thing to say about what God has been doing in my life and what he can do in other people’s lives,” he shares.

What a powerful song that really speaks to people. May the passengers who heard the choir sing it on the plane feel seen and loved by God during that special performance!
