'I Saw The Light' Josh Turner Performs Gospel Song At Home

Country sensation Josh Turner performs an incredible at-home cover of ‘I Saw The Light.’

This classic country song was originally written in 1947. Hank was riding in the backseat while returning from a show in Alabama. His mother was driving him back to Montgomery.

When she spotted the lights of Dannelly Field Airport, she knew they were close to the city. That’s when she said to Hank, ‘I just saw the light.’

After the song’s release, it wasn’t an instant success. But over the decades, ‘I Saw The Light’ has become one of Hank Williams most popular songs and spurred numerous covers.

‘I saw the light, I saw the light
No more darkness, no more night
Now I'm so happy, no sorrow in sight
Praise the Lord, I saw the light’

In 2018, Josh released his very first gospel album titled ‘I Serve A Savior.’ Josh is an award-winning country singer and songwriter and it was a blessing to watch him return to his gospel roots.

Over the past few weeks, as most of the world remains home, he’s been covering some of the most famous country songs and sharing them online. Just listen as he belts out the lyrics to ‘I Saw The Light.’

‘I was a fool to wander and stray
Straight is the gate and narrow's the way
Now I have traded the wrong for the right
Praise the Lord, I saw the light’

During these unprecedented times, it is so important to remember that God is in control. Turn your eyes upon Him and God will always guide you home.
