'Be Thou My Vision' Irish Hymn From Tenor Nathan Pacheco

Classical vocalist Nathan Pacheco worships our Lord with ‘Be Thou My Vision.’

This 8th century Irish hymn was originally translated by Eleanor Hull in 1912. The version that we hear today is sung to the famed Irish folk tune ‘Slane.’

Over the years, many Christian artists and other musicians have covered the hymn, leading to its growing popularity. Despite its age, the powerful words of this hymn still ring true today.

“Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
naught be all else to me, save that thou art -
thou my best thought, by day or by night;
waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.”

Nathan Pacheco is a classically trained tenor known worldwide for his talented performances. Over the years, he’s toured with other big artists such as Katherine Jenkins and Yanni. Recently, he released an entire album of worship songs that peaked at number 1 on the Billboard Classical charts.

Today, he’s belting out the words to ‘Be Thou My Vision’ and it’s absolutely stunning.

“Be thou my wisdom, and thou my true word;
I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord.
Thou my great Father; thine own may I be,
thou in me dwelling and I one with thee.”

As he stands in a church, surrounded by beautiful stain-glassed windows, you can truly feel the weight of these words. When we feel lost, let God be our eyes and He will always guide us to His light. What a blessing to hear this Irish hymn performed in this classical way.
