Seniors Strut Their Stuff During ‘World’s Oldest Flash Mob’

A group of senior citizens surprised several unsuspecting people in a New Zealand shopping district when they broke out their dance moves, creating the “world’s oldest flash mob,” according to the video posted on YouTube.

Unfortunately, the aging process happens to everyone. It’s a part of life that no one has ever been able to avoid. Whether we like it or not, we all get old every day, minute and second. But age is simply a number, right? We’re all only as old as we feel.

A group of seniors showed that their age had no bearing on their dance moves when they joined to give some New Zealand shoppers quite the spectacle. Many of the shoppers and passersby couldn’t believe what they witnessed and resorted to filming the show before them.

The short 5-minute clip starts with people moving about the busy shopping district. They were all going about their day. But little did they know it was about to change dramatically.

About 40 seconds into the video, a catchy, upbeat and energetic song starts blaring, causing several people in the area to stop and take notice, wondering if something is about to take place.

With the music playing, a single, elderly woman takes her place on the dance floor. She is having the time of her life. Then, moments later, she is joined by dozens of other seniors. Soon enough, they are all moving together in a series of synchronized dance moves.

A woman in a wheelchair even makes it out onto the dance floor. She is having a wonderful time!

The spectators are having just as much fun as the senior citizen participants. Everyone watching the elderly dancers strut stuff does so with a smile.

The crowd shows the senior citizens their appreciation by giving them a rousing and highly deserving round of applause.

The video’s description states that 80 people between 65 and 90 years old participated in the stunning dance routine.
