Anointed Shofar

Anointed Shofar

The Shofar was, and still is, a symbol of Gods call to man. Dated as far back as Exodus, we find that the children of Israel used the Shofar to announce, to alert, to warn of danger, call to battle or call to action. The Shofar is still used today by the Jews to call their people to accountability on the day of judgment. In the New testament we read that the angels will use the horn to announce the warnings of the end time and ultimately the return of Christ. Hallelujah!

Today Gods word calls out to us in much the same way as the Shofar did to the children of Israel in the days of old. The blast of a Shofar has such an aura of anointing, awe and holiness about it. It can shatter hearts of stone, wash away layers of complacency and shed light on places inside people that are impenetrable by any other means. Ultimately, the purpose of the Shofars call is to arouse the divine voice within our hearts, calling us back to God.
