Chase Ends with Suspect in Cuffs and Officer Laughing

A chase ended with the suspect in cuffs, and with the responding officer laughing hysterically. The police officer was bound and determined to apprehend the unexpected suspect, who momentarily evaded law enforcement. Watch the short, but hilarious clip to see who the officer was chasing, and his response once the criminal was in custody.

The men and women in law enforcement have difficult jobs. They see and experience things that would likely turn most people’s stomachs and lead to nightmares for months at a time. Officers are usually the first people on the scene whenever there is a fatal car wreck, a deadly shooting, a housefire, domestic disturbances and more.

So, understanding the challenges and difficulties that come with a position in law enforcement, being a police officer in Florida has to be nearly unbearable. Why? Well, anytime you hear about something crazy and absolutely insane happening, more times than not, it takes place in the Sunshine State. Perhaps it’s the close proximity to the ocean and the continual sunshine and warm weather that makes people crazy? Anyway, police officers in Florida have probably seen things you wouldn’t believe.

A clip posted on YouTube shows a police officer in hot pursuit of an emu. Yes, you read that correctly. The officer was chasing the large bird that had escaped and was refusing to obey the officer’s orders.

“Interesting, I’m in pursuit of an emu,” the officer said. “I’m currently behind the emu. He’s running back, southbound in the middle of the road.”

He had to have known how ridiculous that sounded as soon as it left his mouth.

Eventually, after chasing down the suspect, the officer slaps a pair of cuffs on the criminal’s legs. It’s clear that the bird does not appreciate the move.

Understandably, given the insanity of the situation, the officer started laughing. I imagine that when he woke up that morning, he didn’t envision he would be slapping a pair of handcuffs on an emu.

Genesis 1:21 “And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”
