The '80s Classic 'Forever Young' Gets Stunning New Cover

Check out this stunning cover of the ‘80s classic ‘Forever Young.’ The group performing in the video is IMY2, an independent rock band formed in 2019. The talented group is currently based in Nashville, TN, and the members include Annalise Mahanes, Cal Tucker, and Michael Monahan.

‘Let's dance in style, let's dance for a while
Heaven can wait, we're only watching the skies
Hoping for the best but expecting the worst
Are you gonna drop the bomb or not?’

What an incredible rendition of this classic ‘80s song by the band Alphaville. ‘Forever Young’ was originally released in September 1984 as the third single from Alphaville’s debut album.
The song was successful in Scandinavia and in the European German-speaking countries in 1984. Then in 1988, the song peaked at number 63 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States.

‘Forever Young’ was originally intended to be an upbeat dance song, but producer Andreas Budde recommended pairing the song down to a sparse synth-pop ballad. Once Alphaville stripped away most of the tracks and left only the vocals and synth, they came to the final song which we know and love today.

As for the group IMY2, they are well-known for their YouTube channel, where they share both original music and high-quality covers of classic rock and pop songs. They did a fantastic job with their cover of ‘Forever Young,’ and many people online have shared their praise for the group’s music.

“Annalise, Mike, and Cal provide us with another taste of their magic. Thank you IMY2 for one more outstanding performance,” comments one person online after watching the video.

“That sent shivers down my spine and then Mike's guitar gave me goose bumps. Lovely version,” writes another person.

We hope you enjoyed listening to this wonderful rendition from IMY2 of ‘Forever Young’ today!
