This Educator’s Hysterical Guide Decodes Teacher Speak

This educator’s hysterical guide decodes teacher speak. When teachers say these common phrases and statements, this is what they actually mean, according to this teacher. Watch the short but hilarious clip that will have you laughing and give you a better understanding of teachers at the same time.

Teaching is an important and noble profession. Those men and women who work in the educational field touch and impact young lives every single day. What they say, do and how they act in the classroom will have a major influence on the next generation. There aren’t many other jobs that have a bigger impact on the future.

However, while teaching and educating youngsters is incredibly important, it is still a job, at the end of the day. Teachers are also human beings who have good days and bad days, just like everyone else. They have ups and downs. Sometimes they love what they do, and other days they wish they were doing anything else but teaching.

A hysterical clip posted on YouTube pulls back the curtain, so to speak, on some of those commonly heard phrases said in the classroom. You and I aren’t perfect, and neither are teachers, but these phrases show they might just be better at masking when they don’t know the answer or are having a less-than-ideal day.

“A lot of people don’t actually realize this, but teachers are speaking a hidden language called ‘teacher language,’” he said. “And teacher language, it sounds like normal English, but it translates to something completely different.”

This teacher then provides several examples of what he means. He first presents what teachers say and what their students hear, then gives the translation, explaining and saying what the educator actually means with those messages and statements.

In a matter of moments, he will have you laughing hysterically, but at the same time, your knowledge of this previously hidden language, “teacher language,” will increase significantly.

James 3:1 “Do not all be teachers, my brothers, because we teachers will be judged more harshly than others.”
