Tim Hawkins Knows to Ask Questions During Marital Disagreements

Tim Hawkins knows to ask questions during marital disagreements. The popular funnyman understands that communication is key to a healthy marriage, especially when the two parties aren’t seeing eye-to-eye on something. Watch the short but laugh-out-loud clip to see how Tim put this knowledge to good use during a recent argument with his better half.

Marriage is a wonderful, excellent thing. It’s a sacred bond between two people who have vowed to remain with one another, no matter what life may throw at them. And as anyone who is married knows, there will be instances and circumstances that come along that test the strength of that marriage and the depths of that commitment and love.

Because a marriage is a relationship between two flawed and imperfect human beings, disagreements are bound to happen. It’s impossible to be in 100 percent agreement with someone 24/7, even with one’s spouse. People have different opinions, thoughts and feelings, and that is perfectly fine. Disagreements can even be good, as they allow people to work through problems and areas of concern.

In a clip posted on social media, Tim, being a married man, says he knows arguments and tiffs with one’s spouse are inevitable. However, what is important is knowing how to work through those fights and arguments properly, and that’s done through open and honest communication.

Now, part of communication includes asking the other person questions. This allows each person to get to the heart of the issue, to actually solve and address the problem. In fact, Tim mentioned using this strategy during a recent fight with his better half. He knew to ask her questions.

“Ask questions, try to relate, make it better,” he said. “I used that last week.  My wife and I got into a disagreement. It got hot. It got heated. We started to fight. I stopped myself right there; started asking questions. ‘Honey, why you being a psycho right now?’”

Genesis 2:24 “For this cause will a man go away from his father and his mother and be joined to his wife; and they will be one flesh.”
