Carol Burnett and Lucille Ball had an unforgettable and pretty hilarious restaurant experience. The two comedic legends thought they’d try a new restaurant, and it didn’t go quite as planned. Watch the short but hysterical clip to see how their lunch took quite the turn in this classic skit from The Carol Burnett Show.
While it’s been said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, one could make the argument that they all are pretty crucial. Simply put, everyone enjoys eating. No one wants to miss a single meal, even though many of us could probably stand to do so.
We love eating so much that we make plans and schedules around meals. People will often go out for breakfast, lunch and dinner together, catching up and enjoying each other’s company in the process. Some might even partake in something called brunch, which is, of course, a horrible attempt to combine breakfast food with things typically eaten at lunchtime. We get it, people enjoy eating. But brunch may have taken things too far.
Anyway, in a clip posted on YouTube, Carol and Lucille, two professional women who were able to sneak away long enough from their busy jobs, have lunch (not brunch, never brunch!) together. They decide to try a new place. Everyone loves trying a new restaurant. Why not step outside your taste buds’ comfort zone now and then?
Well, hilariously enough, this turns out to be a dining experience that neither of them imagined. It was just described as a place that served food native to Argentina. That sounds good enough, right? However, it soon becomes evident that the food and the people working in the restaurant have a much more WWII vibe and flavor.
Needless to say, I don’t think Carol and Lucille will be returning customers. They’ve probably had their last meal ever at the Café Argentine.
Proverbs 17:22 “A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.”
