Artificial intelligence continues to grow, gaining more use in society every day. It’s becoming increasingly clear that science fiction authors must come up with something else to write about because all those books about AI are quickly becoming reality. How and when to use artificial intelligence is a hotly debated topic today, and that discussion will continue to happen more frequently as AI becomes more accepted in society.

Today, AI can perform various functions and operations, including writing essays and resumes and creating photos and videos. I bet you never thought artificial intelligence would offer up scathing critiques of stand-up comedy routines, but apparently, that is now the world we live in, as is evident in a clip posted on YouTube.

In the video, Dustin Nickerson is on stage at a comedy club in Wisconsin when Siri responds to the setup of a joke he is trying to tell. She chimes in, stating her confusion with Dustin’s routine.

“I didn’t understand that,” Siri says to Dustin.

He and everyone in the audience immediately burst out laughing at Siri’s unexpected comments and criticism.

“I was heckled by a phone,” Dustin says. “Siri is the only mean heckler in Wisconsin. The rest of you are so nice. For me to say the joke, and then it say, ‘I didn’t understand that.’ Geez, so direct, right? It was the setup. It wasn’t even the punchline. Give me a chance, Siri.”

It turns out that everyone is a critic, even pieces of artificial intelligence created by Apple.
