The new trailer for the upcoming film, “Sarah’s Oil,” promises to entertain and stir hearts simultaneously. This film, which is based on a true story, looks to be one for the entire family. Watch the short clip to see the moving, heartwarming trailer for the film, “Sarah’s Oil.”
It is not easy to remain firm and hold steadfastly onto a belief when everyone else doubts and raises questions, which can and often do include the state of your sanity. Only someone with an unwavering, unbreakable faith could withstand such strong and determined opposition. Most people will quickly fade away when they come up against even the weakest, most shallow resistance. Many would rather go with the crowd and be proven wrong than to stand out, be ridiculed for it and later be shown correct.
Faith, as the Bible states, is the firm and steady belief in what is unseen by the human eye. Even when evidence for what we believe and know to be true is, at first glance, scant and limited, it is only faith that will cause someone to hold onto those beliefs. As the trailer for “Sarah’s Oil” shows, faith and a message from God keep the film’s main character going, despite all the ridicule and mockery she receives.
“Sarah’s Oil” is a film based on the story of 11-year-old Sarah Rector in the early 1900s, who explains in the opening moments of the film’s trailer that she believes the land she’s been given has oil underneath it. When asked where she came up with such a seemingly silly notion, she replies, “God.”
“God gave me the ears to hear it,” the young woman says.
Believing she is 100 percent correct, the young woman sets out to find someone to help her extract the oil underneath her land. Eventually, the young woman’s unwavering faith is proven correct. In fact, one character says that it might be some of the best oil in the entire territory.
“I’ve never seen anything like it,” the man says. “That field that you’re sitting on could be the richest in all of Oklahoma.”
This moving, heartfelt and tear-jerking film, “Sarah’s Oil,” shows the power and difference one person having faith can make. It hits theaters on Nov. 7 and stars Naya Desir-Johnson and Zachary Levi.
“Sarah’s Oil” is rated PG for “thematic content, some violence, language including racial slurs, a suggestive reference and brief smoking.”
