The Carol Burnett Show is responsible for producing some of the most hilarious and iconic pieces of television. Even decades after the show’s skits originally aired, they remain a laugh riot. It’s nearly impossible to watch one of the program’s many sketches without laughing yourself silly. Heck, a lot of times that was a tall task for the show’s cast members.

Harvey Korman was, without a doubt, the person who broke character and burst into laughter the most on the show. Typically, Tim Conway was responsible for causing Harvey to do so. It happened so often that whenever those two appeared in a skit together, it was usually just a matter of time until Tim said or did something that caused Harvey to break. That was the case again in another skit from the Carol Burnett Show.

In the skit, Tim plays his iconic and beloved Old Man character. This time, he’s the captain of a ship battling and navigating the high seas. Harvey is operating the wheel, steering the vessel through the high seas. Seconds into the skit, Tim enters the room, hilariously shuffling his feet as he checks on Harvey, who begins cracking a smile almost instantly.

Tim, as the old ship captain, demonstrates in several laugh-out-loud ways that he is, in fact, old. The hijinks don’t stop there, either. Tim gets caught in the ship’s wheel and even gets part of the boat stuck on his face, causing him to closely and momentarily resemble an elephant.
