No one wants to go through life alone. That would be an incredibly lonely and miserable existence. Not only that, but people are made for connections, to establish and maintain relationships with one another. We aren’t made to be islands unto ourselves, cut off from the rest of society and other human beings. It’s for that reason that the Lord established marriage.

Marriage is wonderful, but like everything worthwhile in life, it requires work, patience and perseverance. People are imperfect, fallen beings; this does not change when two individuals marry. There will be disagreements and arguments; no two people will see eye-to-eye on every topic. But it’s about choosing love every time and working through those differences, no matter what they might be.

However, while patience and putting time and effort into a marriage are vital, it’s also good to maintain a sense of humor. We have to be able to laugh at ourselves, and that is precisely what happened in a clip posted on YouTube. A son asked his father what it’s like to be married, and the dad responded in the most hilarious, unexpected fashion.

Dad is outside working on the lawnmower when his son approaches with his all-important question.

“Hey, Dad, I got a question for ya,” the son says. “What’s it like being married?”

“Why don’t you just leave me alone?” the father responds.

Given his father’s somewhat harsh and curt response, the son does what his father said and begins to walk away. However, his father is not done quite yet.
