Carol Burnett, Tim Conway Shine in Classic Mr. Tudball and Mrs. Wiggins Sketch
Carol Burnett and Tim Conway shine in another classic Mr. Tudball and Mrs. Wiggins sketch. The comedic legends are hysterical in this iconic, uproarious skit from The Carol Burnett Show. Watch the short but hysterical clip to see Carol and Tim bring the laughs as some of their most memorable characters.
The best comedy always has an element of truth, something that the audience can easily relate to and understand. The Carol Burnett Show was fantastic at doing this. Many of the show's sketches involved getting big laughs out of common, everyday actions and interactions. Tim Conway's Oldest Man character, Mama's Family and even those Mrs. Wiggins and Mr. Tudball sketches are situations we can all relate to in varying degrees.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Mr. Tudball and Mrs. Wiggins are going around once again. Like every other time, Tim, as Mr. Tudball, continually lobs one hilarious insult after another at his lazy, dimwitted secretary, Mrs. Wiggins (played by Carol), which sails right over her head. However, in this skit, Mr. Tudball has just installed a buzzer for his office door, and he's attempting to go over the buzzer's protocol with her. As you might have guessed, things quickly and hilariously go off the rails.
Mrs. Wiggins's inability to grasp and understand even the most straightforward, simplest instructions causes Mr. Tudball great consternation. At this point, you have to wonder why he keeps her employed? Wouldn’t it be much easier to fire her? However, despite Mrs. Wiggins' failure to understand anything, it's Mr. Tudball who finds himself in the oddest, most unexplainable situations.
By the end of the skit, Mr. Tudball is left locked out of his office, scaling the office building and attempting to break into his office through a locked window.
This skit is another hilarious example of Carol and Tim's comedic genius!
Job 8:21 "The time will come when your mouth will be full of laughing, and cries of joy will come from your lips."
