MercyMe’s ‘Why Not Now, Why Not Me’ Official Music Video

MercyMe’s “Why Not Now, Why Not Me” official music video is here, and it’s a hit. It’s humorous and full of life. Take a peek at the video to see and hear the fun song.

“It’s here! There was absolutely no fun involved in the making of this music video,” the band joked

In the video, the five-member band showcases their middle-aged masculinity. They wear vacation outfits that feature Hawaiian flowers, bucket hats, high socks, baseball caps, and the U.S. flag. As the members sing about only caring what Jesus thinks of them, they slide down slip-n-slides, dance from side to side, play in kiddie pools, light fireworks, and play bean bag toss.

Some of the song’s lyrics are:

Why not now and why not me
What if I actually believe what Jesus
What He thinks of me
Cuz that changes everything

“Why Not Now, Why Not Me” is a fun song about how now is your moment to “shine.” It emphasizes that it’s time to stop caring about what others think and care about what Jesus thinks. Everyone has immense value and worth to Him.

MercyMe has been making music for the last three decades. They’ve had six Grammy nominations, two American Music Awards, and six Dove Awards. They never fail to keep putting out great music that gives God glory. In 2018, a moving film was made about the band with the same title as one of their hit songs, “I Can Only Imagine.”

“Why Not Now, Why Not Me” is one of 13 songs on their newest album, “Wonder & Awe.”

“This album reflects where I am right now…longing for wonder and awe—actively seeking the wonder of God and learning not to take it for granted,” said lead singer Bart Millard. “We’re so excited to finally share it, and we hope it brings even a fraction of the joy and excitement it’s brought us.”

“Why Not Now, Why Not Me” is a great reminder to live life how you’re meant to—as a child of God.
