Comedian John Crist’s girlfriend asks him a trick question. The popular funnyman shared the question that his significant other asked him, which surely seemed like a trap. Relationships are important and necessary. Human beings are not meant to be alone. We are made to have and establish meaningful connections with one another. How boring an existence would it be to go through this life completely and entirely alone? Even the quietest, most introverted person would hate going through life without anyone.

However, while relationships are enriching and make life a richer, fuller experience, they can still be tricky to maneuver, especially romantic relationships. A certain level of care and sensitivity is necessary when it comes to romantic relationships. Most people do not want to intentionally hurt someone else’s feelings, which can mean tiptoeing and handling some issues delicately. In a clip posted on YouTube, John shares a situation with his significant other that required him to be very careful in how he answered her question.

“I feel like my girlfriend is trying to trick me, OK,” John told the audience. “A lot of times she trying to trick me because she came in the other day on Instagram, and she goes, ‘John, do you think this girl is hot?’”

This question is an obvious trap, or at least it feels like one. Now, anyone who has ever been in a relationship knows the correct answer to that question. Even if the person she is asking about is attractive, you say something to the effect of “Not as pretty as you.” John took a similar approach, and hilariously, it still backfired on him.

“And I was like, ‘No’,” he said. “And she goes, ‘Well, people think we look similar and now I’m depressed.’”
