Band Nails Classic Journey Hit ‘Don’t Stop Believin’ in Epic Cover
Check out this band of ten as they nail Journey’s classic ‘Don’t Stop Believin’’with their epic cover of the OG’s 1981 hit! You may find yourself singing, dancing, and wanting to get to know this fun group better!
Journey has recorded so many amazing chart-topping songs, but ‘Don’t Stop Believin’’ is generally considered to be the most beloved of them all. Recorded after Steve Perry joined the band and during their most successful years, ‘Don’t Stop Believin’’ was inspired by a telephone conversation that Jonathan Cain had with his father.
The Chicago native called his dad from Hollywood at a point when he wasn’t sure his dream of becoming a famous musician would ever come to pass. When he asked his father if he should quit and return home, his dad advised him, “Don’t stop believing.” What a wise man he was!
With that piece of inspiration, Jonathan, along with Journey members Steve Perry and Neal Schon, wrote the song in a day, and it became “one of the greatest rock classics in the history of American music.”
Here are the first iconic lines from ‘Don’t Stop Believin’:’
‘Just a small-town girl, livin' in a lonely world
She took the midnight train goin' anywhere
Just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere’
September In The Park covers Journey’s hit in fine style. Keyboardist Glen Carvin plays the perfect piano introduction, and Ashley Zimmerman sings the first unforgettable strains. Then, at 45 seconds, Steve delivers an incredible guitar solo, reminiscent of that musical era, and it concludes with a big bang by Melly on the drums. What a fabulous start to an amazing performance!
This exciting group can be booked for a variety of events, and wouldn’t that be a blast! They bring listeners back to the 80s with Journey’s timeless tale of perseverance and determination to achieve one’s dreams. Here’s hoping that September In The Park doesn’t stop making music anytime soon!
“Therefore, among God’s churches we boast about your perseverance and faith in all the persecutions and trials you are enduring.” 2 Thessalonians 1:4
