The Hilarious (and Totally Relatable) Steps of Getting a Dog

A comedian shared the hilarious and totally relatable steps of getting a dog. These are likely to look very familiar to anyone who has ever had a canine or any other pet. Watch this short but hysterical clip to see the steps of getting a dog laid out in a very relatable and familiar way.

Dogs are fantastic creatures. They are loving, loyal and dependable to a fault. You also know they’re special because they are the only animal referred to as “man’s best friend.” Who doesn’t love dogs? What is not to love about them?

As great as dogs are, they all require a certain amount of attention and care. Pets can be a lot of work, and it doesn’t matter who does it, but they have needs that must be met. And we all know who usually ends up taking care of the dog, regardless of who initially wanted to get the dog: Mom and/or Dad.

A clip posted on YouTube hilariously captures what it’s like to add a four-legged, furry member to the family. There are definite steps to this often long, drawn-out process, which are all hysterically depicted in the clip. You’ll find yourself either laughing or crying because they are very familiar.

This video begins with children asking their father if they can get a dog. He is very firm and confident, responding, “Absolutely not.” That settles it, right? Not at all.

Next, his wife uses a guilt trip on him. Mom, who has now come around on the idea of getting a dog, mentions how she wants another baby, but that isn't possible because he had a procedure done. So, she’ll settle for a cute puppy instead of a baby.

So, the family now has a dog. Dad reminds everyone of the work that is required to care for the newest member of their family. He’s not going to take care of the animal. He will not be helping.

Of course, he is the one left taking care of the animal in every possible way, and he does so begrudgingly. But eventually, after all his complaining and warning that he would not help with the animal that everyone else wanted, he warms up to it.

Proverbs 12:10 “An upright man has thought for the life of his beast, but the hearts of evildoers are cruel.”
