Filmmakers Reveal Their Goal and Purpose for ‘Light of The World’
The filmmakers behind "The Light of The World" have revealed their goal and purpose for their upcoming film. Those responsible for the animated film about the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ sat down and discussed what motivated them to create the movie. Watch the short but powerful clip to hear why they needed to produce "Light of The World."
For every film produced, there must be (or should be) a reason for it to exist. Filmmakers, with their final product, are typically trying to convey a message and get a point across to their intended audience. A film, a book or even a television show that isn't trying to express a specific message or idea is often unreadable and unwatchable, some of the worst you'll encounter.
Filmmakers without a driving, unifying force or idea behind their work will likely fail. Something must motivate them to keep going during those hardships and difficulties that often come when making a movie. The "Light of The World" filmmakers shared what motivated them to make the animated film and what they hope to achieve with this project.
"This film should already exist, and it didn't," Brennan McPherson, "Light of The World" producer, said. "And so, we felt that it was a calling on our lives to make it happen. God's blessed it and has made it happen. It's an extremely powerful tool to share the gospel with the world."
Matt McPherson, an executive producer of "Light of the World," mentioned that he heard God's voice tell him that he would eventually make a film about Jesus. From that point, Matt said doors started opening to make that possible.
While they all want everyone to enjoy "Light of The World," they hope those who view the film don't simply watch it and forget its message. They want those who watch it to become closer to Christ and grow in their faith.
"We're really focused on not only leading people to Christ, but to disciple them and encourage them to get involved in a local church," Matt said.
Colossians 2:6 "As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk you in him:"
