This Jazzy Rendition of ‘Edge of Seventeen’ Is Beautiful

Check out this wonderful, jazzy rendition of Stevie Nicks' ‘Edge of Seventeen’. The singer in the video is Robyn Adele Anderson, and her voice, along with the band, sounds amazing! This song really does lend itself so well to this type of moody jazz.

‘Just like the white winged dove
Sings a song, sounds like she's singin' "ooh, ooh, ooh"
Just like the white winged dove
Sings a song, sounds like she's singin' "ooh, baby, ooh, said, ooh"’

What a great performance! In the caption of the video, Robyn shares a bit about her thoughts on the song ‘Edge of Seventeen.’

“This song is so iconic, I can’t believe it took me this long to get around to covering it!” she writes. “Of course I had to make it extra special and bring in my girl Tiffany Weiss on violin (before she hit the road touring with Will Smith!). So please enjoy my first (and definitely not last) Stevie Nicks cover.”

Many people online were blown away by this jazzy cover of this classic song.

“Wow! Somehow it feels like this was the original version of the song, waiting to come out! Fantastic!” writes one person after watching the music video.

“Very cool, thank you for that,” comments another person online. “Really enjoyed the different take on this song – that jazzy uplifting sound to the song sounded great. And that singer, wow! She definitely pulled it off. Great job guys, definitely loved it.”

The song ‘Edge of Seventeen’ by Stevie Nicks was inspired by the deaths of both John Lennon and Stevie’s uncle Jonathan Nicks, which occurred within the same week in December 1980. And the song's title came from a misheard phrase by Tom Petty's wife, Jane, who said she met Tom "at the age of seventeen," which Stevie Nicks heard as "edge of seventeen."

We hope you enjoyed this creative take on this classic song today!
