Dogs and cats are natural enemies. That’s at least what nearly every single movie and television show would lead you to believe. The differences between those two creatures are too vast for them ever to overcome. They couldn’t possibly ever put their differences aside and become pals, right?

Well, those movies, television shows and cartoons may not be entirely correct. Sure, pitting dogs and cats against one another has been done before and continues to be done in popular media, but it appears that they don’t have a natural inclination to hate one another. Of course, there are likely some dogs that don’t appreciate or get along with cats and vice versa. But I have a sneaking suspicion that canines and felines can get along and coexist if given the opportunity.

While most would have expected the cat to turn the dog’s offer of a bath away immediately, the cat truly seemed to enjoy the canine-provided bath. It appears as happy as can be, as it even moves its head around to help the canine reach every spot on his head and face.

Perhaps cats and dogs are not destined to be enemies who want nothing more than to see the other’s destruction and downfall. Maybe they can be friends after all.
