You’ll melt watching this pup enjoy its special birthday treat. The adorable canine turned another year older and was taken to a popular spot to help celebrate the special occasion. Most people do not like celebrating or even recognizing their birthday. As far as those individuals are concerned, there are only 364 days in a year, with the day of their birth having completely disappeared from the calendar. Of course, that mentality and thinking makes sense. No one wants a reminder that you’re getting older, which is exactly what a birthday is.

However, it appears that human beings are the only ones who have a strong aversion to their birthdays. Dogs and other animals seem not to mind birthdays at all. They enjoy them because those cute, furry and four-legged creatures are often treated to something special on their big day. It’s either that or they actually have no concept or understanding of birthdays. But who really knows, right?

Anyway, an adorable clip posted on YouTube shows how one golden retriever, Wally, celebrated his birthday. The pup was taken to the most popular fast-food chain in the world: McDonald’s.

The sweet video shows Wally excitedly hanging out of the back window in the drive-thru as the order for his special birthday treat is taken. It’s clear that this pup has been to McDonald’s a time or two before and knows what is coming. When they arrive at the pick-up window, the animal excitedly awaits for the food to be delivered.

When it comes time to enjoy his special birthday treat, which is a Happy Meal with a plain hamburger, fries, water and apple slices, Wally wastes no time scarfing down the food. He gobbles down the fries and essentially inhales the hamburger. But finishes it off in a healthy, sensible way, chomping down on the pieces of apple and washing it all down with some water.
