Being a Grandma Is a Whole Different Game—Leanne Morgan Explains Why

Being a grandmother is a whole different game from being a mother, and Leanne Morgan explains why. The popular comedian loves being a mother and a grandmother, but knows there is a big difference between those two roles. Watch the clip to hear her hilarious approach to being a grandmother.

Children are a blessing, a literal gift from the Lord. They bring with them an incalculable amount of joy and happiness. Those little bundles of joy make every household blessed with them infinitely and forever better. No parent or grandparent would ever say anything different.

While parents and grandparents love and adore their children and grandchildren, those are two very distinct roles. Parents are those who are responsible for setting boundaries and correcting and admonishing children when they push those boundaries or do something unacceptable. Grandparents, on the other hand, typically don’t have to mess with all the punishment and correcting. Instead, they get to have all the fun, usually spoiling their grandchildren. There’s a reason why most youngsters love and adore their grandparents, and I think we may have found it.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Leanne, who is now a grandmother, loves her grandchildren. She shares how drastically different being a parent and a grandparent is from one another, and I believe she’s having much more fun being a grandmother.

“It’s very different being a mama than a grandmama,” she said. “They’re both wonderful, but they’re very different. This is the difference, I think: when my babies want something, I’m going to give it to them.”

Later in the clip, she provides a couple of examples of how her grandmotherhood has progressed up to this point.

“And my boy and his wife are wonderful parents, but they say crap to me,” she added. “Things like, ‘No more riding toys.’ And I’m like, ‘Ok, but I cannot take back this Chevy with a gooseneck back.’ And then they said to me the other day, ‘We’re going to have to wean this one off his pacifier. And I was like, ‘Yeah, that’s a good idea.’ And then I went home and ordered as many as I could off the internet.”

Proverbs 17:6 “Children’s children are the crown of old men, and the glory of their children is their fathers.”
