This The Voice singer wows the judges with an electrifying rendition of “Edge of Seventeen” that sends chills up the spine. The 24-year-old could not sound more perfectly unique. Watch the performance to hear her incredible voice. 

Amelia (Milly) Monk absolutely astounds the Australian judges with her performance. Each one nods their head in rapt attention as Milly starts out. Less than a minute into the song, she has already had two judges hit their buzzers. 

Five seconds more, and all the judges have their chairs turned around. At the end of her song, Milly gasps in surprise at seeing all of the judges there with their chairs turned, wanting her on their teams. And it’s not just the judges who are impressed; the whole room erupts in applause. 

It’s no surprise that all the judges loved her. She has a unique, slightly raspy voice that is much like Stevie Nicks ' and makes her ideally suited to sing Nicks’ song, “Edge of Seventeen.” Some of the lyrics she croons are:

All alone, on the edge of 17
It is also a very unique song choice, and it makes her stand out. It’s one of those songs that’s older now and blurs genres. But as exemplified by Milly, all generations have come to love it. 

“It was intense, but I sang my heart out and gave it everything I had,” she said of competing. “Standing alongside some of the biggest voices in the competition and holding my own was such an honor.”

Milly has a strong stage presence, and you just want to watch her as she sings. She radiates with confidence and vulnerability. No matter where she goes with the competition, it’s clear that she’s destined for a career in music.
