Jordan Smith turned in a stirring live performance of “How Great Thou Art.” The former winner of “The Voice” dazzled with an outstanding rendition of the beloved church hymn. Watch the short but powerful clip to see and hear Jordan’s awe-inspiring rendition.
When it comes to church music, nothing will ever top those old hymns. Yes, there are plenty of fantastic contemporary Christian songs from many incredibly talented musicians. But those songs do not even come close to matching the hymns. Hymns are so beautifully and powerfully written, and who would ever be against hearing a hymn during a church service?
While it’s evident to all that hymns are far superior to contemporary Christian music, some hymns still stand out among the rest. Of course, you can probably quickly name them, which include “Amazing Grace,” “Great is Thy Faithfulness, “It is Well with My Soul” and “Blessed Assurance,” among others.
In a clip posted on YouTube, Jordan performs another one of those classic hymns, “How Great Thou Art,” which is near and dear to the hearts of many. Jordan, an incredibly talented musician, shows why he won “The Voice.” His version has a slightly different sound and feel than you’re probably used to, but the moving and powerful words are still the same.
No matter how many times you may have heard that song, those words remain as powerful and relevant as ever. He is still worthy of all praise, glory and honor. None of us would have a chance without Him and the forgiveness and love he so freely provides. We’d all be lost, but Christ forever changed everything for humanity because of His great love for us.
“Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee
How great Thou art, how great Thou art”
How great Thou art, indeed!
Hebrews 13:15 “Let us then make offerings to God at all times through him, that is to say, the fruit of lips giving witness to his name.”
