Dolly Parton Says No to Judging on Singing Shows — and Her Reason Will Melt Your Heart

Dolly Parton says no to judging on singing shows; her reason will melt your heart. The legendary entertainer will not be appearing as a judge on American Idol or The Voice anytime soon, and she gives the sweetest reason why that is the case. Watch the short clip to hear Dolly answer that question and many other questions.

Shows like American Idol, America’s Got Talent and The Voice continue to be popular even though some have been on for decades. People tune in weekly to see who makes it onto the show and advances to the next round of the competition. Of course, after all the auditions, performances and eliminations, only one person can be named the winner at the end of the season.

However, because of those eliminations, Dolly will never be a judge on American Idol or The Voice. In a clip posted on YouTube, the “Jolene” singer says she just doesn’t have it in her to tell someone no, regardless of their talent level.

“I’ve been asked to do that a lot of times,” she said. “It’s too hard for me. That’s why I don’t accept it. ‘Cause I know how sincere everybody is, even if they’re not that good. They believe they are, and now, I just can’t hurt people.”

In the clip, Dolly also revealed that she has no plans to ever go into space and that she is not even a big fan of flying. Additionally, she isn’t a fan of self-driving cars and would never be a passenger in a vehicle that drives itself.

Later in the clip, Dolly revealed herself as a fan of some popular fast-food chains.

“Oh, I don’t secretly do it, I just do it,” she said. “I love Taco Bell, of course. I love Burger King, of course. McDonald’s, always great.”

Ephesians 4:32 “And be kind to one another, full of pity, having forgiveness for one another, even as God in Christ had forgiveness for you.”
