Ducks Separated for Days Have the Sweetest Reunion

A pair of ducks who had been separated for several days had the sweetest, most heartwarming reunion. From their adorable reactions, these two animals were more than a little thrilled to be back together. Watch the short but oh so sweet clip to see the precious first few moments when they were reunited.

Animals possess much more intelligence than many would care to admit. Instead of believing that they act on intelligence, many individuals would like to argue that it's instinct or some other ingrained behavior. Sure, instinct directs and controls some of what those cute, furry and four-legged friends do, but is it too hard to believe they are actually smart creatures, capable of learning?

Similarly, animals are also emotionally intelligent. They know how to read a room and can feel and pick up on how someone is doing emotionally and mentally. How often have you seen an animal cuddle up and attempt to soothe someone frightened, highly agitated or feeling uneasy? That's the entire reason why animals are so often brought to places like hospitals and nursing homes: for their ability to feel and detect emotions and provide comfort and solace.

A clip posted on social media captures the emotional intelligence of two animals in action. According to the clip's text, two ducks—siblings—had been separated for over a week to allow one of the ducks to recover and heal after being attacked by a raccoon.

Very early in the short, 49-second clip, it's clear that the two animals knew and recognized one another. They didn't even have to see one another to know who was just beyond their field of vision. One of the ducks hears her sister quacking, and momentarily pauses to take in the sound, and responds, calling back to the second duck.

However, that's not even the video's most heartwarming, tear-jerking part. That occurs when the two animals, after seeing one another, quickly and adorably waddle to greet each other. After being reacquainted, the two birds enjoy a nice swim together.

Genesis 1:21 "And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good."
