Board Games, but Make Them Honest — Tim Hawkins’ Take Is Comedy Gold

Make board games, but just be honest when writing their official descriptions, according to Tim Hawkins. The popular comedian offered his hysterical commentary on how board game manufacturers are not entirely truthful whenever producing those games. Watch the short but hysterical and very relatable clip to listen to what Tim had to say about some of the most popular board games.

Everyone has played board games at some point in their lives. Playing board games is a universal activity. Do you know anyone who has never played a board game? See what I mean? It’s simply one of those things all people do, whether it be at a party or inside when the weather is less-than-ideal.

Now, some board games you will inevitably like more than others, while others you will absolutely hate. Seriously, I cannot think of a game I despise more than Chutes and Ladders. Who wants to play a game that could go on forever without a winner or a loser ever being determined? However, I’m sure if you were to read the game’s official description, it would mention how much fun will be had by all as they enjoy one of the most beloved games of all time.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Tim knows all too well the pain when a board game’s description is less than completely honest with potential players. His rant is not only hilarious but also completely relatable, as we have all been there and felt the same way.

“Come up with some better board games, man. Horrible board games growing up,” Tim said. “Because board games lie to you. You know, like, on the board of the game, it’ll tell you the name, and it’ll have a description. It’s always a lie.”

Later in the clip, Tim provides some hysterical examples of how these games regularly deceive everyone.

“Clue: an exciting mystery game for the whole family,” he said. “Tell the truth. Battleship: learn how to hate your brother. How ‘bout that? “Trivial Pursuit: find out how dumb your dad is.”

Proverbs 17:22 “A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.”
