Everyone, unless they had some really strange parents, has a name. Now, maybe we like that name, or maybe we aren’t fond of it at all. Some, who may not enjoy their name for whatever reason, may choose to go by a nickname or shorten their name altogether. We all know people like this, and this might even include you.

Additionally, there is another group of people who, again, for some reason, give people a fake name in certain instances. One of the most common instances when individuals use a phony name is when ordering coffee. Why do people do this? I have no idea. Perhaps, in their heart of hearts, they understand how truly awful that beverage is, but don’t want others to know they drink it?

In a clip posted on YouTube, Aaron mentions that he uses a fake name whenever he’s ordering coffee or giving it to a hostess at a restaurant, he’ll use a fake name. The name he uses instead of his real name? Doug. This particular time, he shares how using a phony name got him into a bit of trouble.

When it came time to pay his bill, he pulled out his credit card. However, the name on the credit card did not match the name that he had given to the restaurant employee. Things quickly spiraled out of control, and he had to keep telling one fib after another because nothing he said worked with what he had previously said.
