Not every situation in life is a cause or reason for celebration. Often, there are storms, challenges and other seasons of hardship that we’d like to pass through as quickly as possible. Those situations are typically accompanied by pain, suffering and sorrow, which are never fun. But, of course, we don’t have much control over such circumstances.

However, we do have control over how we react to such situations. Anger, fear and discouragement may be the default human responses whenever painful and heartache-inducing circumstances arise, but that doesn’t have to be the case. Jesus Christ remains on the throne and in control, even during life’s storms. He is forever faithful and will guide and protect us during that situation.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Jordan Smith beautifully performs “His Eye is on the Sparrow.” It’s a well-known and beloved song that reminds us that if He cares enough about the tiny bird in the sky, He most certainly cares and knows about our situation and circumstances.

Whenever we encounter one of life’s many challenges, it’s human nature to respond with worry and fear. That doesn’t have to be the case; take the situation causing much concern and trepidation to the Lord in prayer. Ask for His touch and for Him to work in that situation and leave it at His feet.
