Contemporary Christian music has exploded in popularity within the last couple of years. This is especially true for churches. Many places of worship have essentially ditched the old, classic hymns for the more modern, updated sound of contemporary Christian songs.

Personally, the hymns are undefeated. Nothing will ever be able to top “Great is Thy Faithfulness,” "Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art” or “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” Despite their considerable age, those songs remain as meaningful and relevant as ever.

However, don’t be so quick to disregard contemporary Christian music. There are many lovely songs from super-talented musicians, including the beloved “What a Beautiful Name.”

It truly is a beautiful name, for there is no other name than Jesus Christ that saves humanity from sin. It is a name that changes hearts and lives, giving hope to the hopeless and offering salvation to all. Praise His holy name!
