Woman’s Stunning ‘You Are My Sunshine’ Cover on 'The Voice'
Check out this stunning performance on ‘The Voice’ of a cover of The Pine Ridge Boys' ‘You Are My Sunshine.’ Iris Herrera sings her heart out, and her wonderful audition immediately impressed all of the judges.
‘You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray
You'll never know, dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
The other night, dear, as I lay sleeping’
What a unique and beautiful voice! Iris did such a wonderful job! And all of the judges on The Voice – Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé, John Legend, and Adam Levine thought the same.
John Legend was the first judge to turn his chair, then Kelsea Ballerini, followed by Michael Bublé. And even though Adam Levine did not turn his chair around, he only had nice things to say to the singer.
“You obviously belong here, and I’m really happy for you,” Adam Levine says to Iris after her performance.
Then Kelsea Ballerini spoke up and shared some praise and encouragement with Iris.
“With your voice, it made me want to know you. That’s what people are looking for in an artist. It’s like, why do I feel so connected to the way that she’s singing that? And you have that,” Kelsea Ballerini says. “I felt like you kind of reaching up and slowly finding those notes was such a stylistic choice. And to me, it came across so emotive. You’re very infectious and you’re very soulful. And I would be really, really honored to work with you and support you in any way I can.”
After hearing the feedback from the other judges, Iris ultimately chose Kelsea Ballerini to be her mentor on The Voice. We can’t wait to see what comes from this talented singer next!

A Prayer for the Anniversary of the Loss of a Loved One - Your Daily Prayer - May 14
Whether death for us comes first or the rapture happens, we will see our loved ones again. And this is the hope that keeps me going every day. Sure, my mom isn’t with me right now; however, Jesus is with me, and He is with her too.
