Young Singer's Moving Rendition of 'There Is Power In The Blood'

A young and gifted singer turned in a powerful and moving rendition of the classic, beloved hymn “There is Power in the Blood.”

Human beings are fallen, imperfect creatures. Sin has corrupted everything it has encountered, including humanity. No one is perfect or even good, not even one. The Bible says that all are sinners and have fallen short of the glory of God.

However, because of God’s love for sinners described in John 3:16, He sent His one and only Son to Earth. That son, Jesus Christ, would eventually and willingly go to the cross, experiencing and suffering through a horrible, agonizing and humiliating death. He did all that for you and me. No one would have a chance without His sacrifice and the blood spilled on the cross. All would be destined for hell, but Jesus Christ changed all of that.

In a clip posted on YouTube, one young woman beautifully sings a classic hymn about the immense and mighty life-changing power of Christ’s blood. Christ’s blood can and does wash away sins, and that cleansing of sin, that forgiveness is freely offered to all who call upon His name.

The song’s iconic and memorable chorus perfectly articulates and describes the importance of the blood Jesus Christ (the Lamb) shed on the cross at Calvary.

“There is power, power, wonder-working power

In the blood of the Lamb

There is power, power, wonder-working power

In the precious blood of the Lamb”

That chorus, those four short lines, perfectly sums up the Gospel’s entire message. It’s about Christ’s love and sacrifice for all of humanity. It also gives hope to sinners, offering forgiveness and eternal salvation to all who seek Him and turn from their ways.

That same hope and forgiveness of sins is still offered and available today. As the song says, there is power in the blood.

1 John 1:7 “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleans us from all sin.”
