However, there is arguably another, even more elite classification of songs. There are only a handful that will cause nearly everyone in earshot to become emotional each time they are heard or performed. One of those songs, of course, is our nation’s anthem: “The Star-Spangled Banner.” It’s a cherished and precious song that often means different things to people.

In a clip posted on social media, hundreds of high school students gathered for a jaw-dropping performance of the patriotic song. It’s simply a beautiful rendition, with the nearly 600 students combining their immense musical talents for the awe-inspiring, chilling performance.

The video’s description mentions that the performance occurred at a Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA) state choir competition and that the students’ performance is part of an annual tradition that goes back nearly 40 years.
