Man and Woman Marry After First Meeting as Babies in the NICU
A man and a woman married after first meeting as babies in the NICU. Their love story started as babies in a hospital’s intensive care unit. It seems that these two people were almost destined to be together.
Every married couple has a unique story. Typically, the highlights include when and how they met, their first date, how the big question was popped and their wedding day. Of course, the details of each of those moments will vary dramatically depending on the couple. Those are memories that both will cherish for the rest of their lives.
For one couple – Hayden and Rachel Sackey – their love story began soon after they entered the world. Theirs is a beautiful story that will surely bring a tear or two or maybe even three to your eye. According to the video posted on YouTube, Hayden and Rachel actually met as babies in the neonatal intensive care unit.
“I was born premature,” Rachel said. “I had a condition called hydrocephalus, which is fluid on the brain.”
“I was born at one pound, five ounces,” Richard said. “So, I was extremely little, and I was also born premature.”
Richard and Rachel added that both of their mothers have remained friends since they were in the NICU, which led to Richard and Rachel staying in touch long after they left the hospital. Eventually, Richard and Rachel began dating. Through a series of unforeseen circumstances, their first date took place in the hospital, where they met as babies.
The hospital where they first met continued to play a significant role in their relationship. They went to prom together and spent some of that evening visiting the hospital and its staff.
Then, in September 2024, Richard and Rachel tied the knot. But they have still not forgotten the place that brought them both together. They regularly visit the children and the families in the NICU.
“We wanted to show any of the parents that are here, nurses, the doctors, I mean, we’re an example of what could happen,” Richard said.
1 Corinthians 16:14 “Let all you do be done in love.”
