Despite Having the Flu, Carol Burnett Brings the House Down in Side-Splitting Skit

Despite having the flu, the legendary Carol Burnett brings the house down in another classic, side-splitting skit. The Carol Burnett Show is a television program that has kept people laughing for decades, and this skit is no exception. This sketch will have you laughing so hard that you will likely miss several jokes and have to watch it multiple times.

Hollywood, despite all its glitz and glamor, is still a business. In fact, entertainment is a multi-billion-dollar business. People badly want to be entertained and are willing to pay a lot for it. Just look at the millions of dollars the box office brings in every weekend.

Show business is also the area in which it was first said that “the show must go on.” Of course, this saying can be applied to every field, including entertainment. It simply means that the specific task must still be completed despite any obstacles.

In a clip posted on YouTube, Carol takes this saying literally. The skit has Carol and Harvey Korman starring together in a play with one another. A lot is riding on this play. Early in the clip, Harvey mentions a Hollywood producer is sitting in the audience anticipating his performance.

But there is just one thing wrong: Carol has come down with the flu. However, she refuses to be stopped or even take a shot. The show must go on, after all. It goes on alright, but probably not how either Carol or Harvey had initially imagined.

Carol’s constant coughing, sneezing and lethargic behavior and movements make for some big laughs. Harvey is also hilarious. He provides several laughs, being forced to play off Carol. Harvey also experiences many issues with a hairpiece that refuses to stay in place.

This skit is filled with laugh after laugh. How in the world did Carol and Harvey keep from bursting into laughter?

Proverbs 17:22 “A glad heart makes a healthy body, but a crushed spirit makes the bones dry.”
