One cat’s absolutely hilarious performance as it tries to snag some ice cream will leave you in stitches.

We live in very divided, polarized times. There are deep divisions and strong opinions on nearly every topic and subject of importance. Those differences of opinion often descend into heated arguments, where voices are raised and feelings are hurt.

Log onto any social media platform or turn on any news channel, and you’ll learn that getting a consensus on any topic is nearly impossible. I stress the word "nearly" because if there is one thing everyone can agree on, it’s ice cream. Who doesn’t like that cold, tasty treat? There is literally a flavor for everyone.

Well, as one hysterical clip “purr”fectly shows, humans aren’t the only beings who enjoy themselves some ice cream. Cats, especially one in an adorable and laugh-out-loud clip posted on social media, love the frozen dessert.

In the 30-second video, the large, orange cat is taking one of its many naps on the table. Where the cat has decided to rest, there just so happens to be a tub of ice cream in the vicinity of its nap location. That is purely by coincidence, I’m sure. Seconds into the clip, it becomes clear that the cute, orange-colored cat is well aware of the presence of ice cream.

Of course, the cat is not actually asleep. Every few seconds, it reaches out for the lid, moving its front paw closer and closer to it. However, it still wants everyone to believe it is physically drained and simply trying to get its beauty sleep.

Eventually, the cat pulls the lid close enough to its face so that it can enjoy the ice cream. We aren’t sure who the cat was fooling, but it probably doesn’t care much, either. Ultimately, the cat ended up with what it wanted: a taste of wonderful, delicious ice cream.
