Candace Cameron Bure Shares Why The Book of Job Is A Favorite Of Hers
Actress and Christian Candace Cameron Bure stated that Job had become one of her favorite books in the Bible and explained her reasons for including it as one of her preferred books.
The Bible is essentially a guidebook and a blueprint for life. It’s a book with many stories, verses and books. Those stories and books include characters who can and do serve as examples for us today. They show us what to do and what not to do in certain situations.
One of the Bible’s most memorable characters is Job. According to Scripture, Job was a righteous and upright man of God. He was also incredibly blessed financially, had a large and loving family and was in perfect health.
As the Bible states, Job was then put through the wringer. He suffered great misery and loss. But even though he was enduring such pain and agony, Job remained a faithful servant and follower of God.
On her podcast, Candace stated that she loves the book of Job because of his stunning example of faithfulness and trust in God. She added that Job’s story is so great and powerful because it shows that the Lord never leaves us as we walk through life’s dark valleys.
“And what is so hopeful for me at the end of that book is that God gives him a double portion in the end,” she said. “God sees him. God sees him throughout. God is with him. God is directive the whole time through that book. And then he comes in and speaks to him.”
Everyone will go through horrible circumstances and situations in this life. It’s impossible to get through this life without being battered, bruised and beaten up. However, as Candace mentioned in the clip, God never leaves or forsakes. He understands our suffering and pain and offers comfort and healing.
Job 42:16 “And after this Job lived a 140 years, and saw his sons, and his sons’ sons, even four generations.”
