Praise and Worship Team’s Soul-Stirring Rendition of ‘Mercy’
One church’s praise and worship team delivered a soul-stirring rendition of “Mercy.” This powerful and moving cover of the tune previously sung and recorded by Elevation Worship and Maverick City Music is one you’ll want to listen to repeatedly. Watch the video and listen to the talented team’s cover performance.
You and I and everyone else on Earth, as the Bible states, are sinners who have fallen short of the glory of God. In our arrogance and disobedience, we willingly turned our back on Him. We chose our way, ignoring and going against His commands and directives. In short, we’re sinners.
But for some reason, God, in His mercy and goodness, made a way to repair and bridge the divide sin caused in our relationship with Him. God sent His Son, Jesus Christ. He became a sacrifice, taking our spot on the cross. Christ paid a debt we can never repay, giving us hope and a future.
In a clip posted on YouTube, the praise and worship team from First Baptist Clarksville in Clarksville, Tennessee, beautifully performed “Mercy.” As indicated by the song’s title, it’s a tune about the undeserving love and mercy that Christ did and continues to show every one of us.
“Now I’m alive to tell the story
How I’ve overcome
It’s His goodness and mercy
And the power of His blood”
The song’s lyrics accurately articulate and describe what the Lord has done and continues to do in lives. He takes people and changes lives, making things thought lost and broken new again. He brings hope and offers forgiveness of sins to all. None of which any of us deserve. However, it’s all only possible because of Christ’s love, goodness and mercy.
Watch this video, listen to the song lyrics and try not to get emotional. That’s a near impossibility when truly considering what Christ has done and continues to do in our lives.
Hebrews 4:16 “Then let us come near to the seat of grace without fear, so that mercy may be given to us, and we may get grace for our help in time of need.”
