What Child Is This?' Christmas Hymn From Anthem Lights And Morgan Ranney

Listen to the lovely Christmas hymn ‘What Child Is This?’ performed by Anthem Lights and Morgan Ranney.

“What child is this who lay to rest on Mary's lap is sleeping
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet, while shepherds watch are keeping
So bring him incense, gold and myrrh, come peasant king to own him
The King of Kings salvation brings, let loving hearts enthrone him”

What a beautiful video! All of the singers are singing separately at first, and then they blend their voices later on in the song. And their harmonies are so wonderful to listen to!

The members of the group are singing next to each other with Christmas trees all lit up in the background. It is quite the festive video.

Anthem Lights is a Pop, Rock, Christian and Gospel vocal group known for their hymns, medleys, and mashups. The singers that make up the group are Caleb Grimm, Chad Graham, Joey Stamper, and Spencer Kane.

“So beautiful! Love the way you all sound together,” comments one person on YouTube after watching the group sing ‘What Child Is This?’.

“Best Christmas cover I’ve seen this year,” writes another person online.

The famous lyrics to the Christmas carol ‘What Child Is This?’ was written in 1865 by William Chatterton Dix. William spent most of his life as a businessman in Glasgow, Scotland, and he was very fond of traditional English folk songs. When he started writing the lyrics for ‘What Child Is This?,’ he decided to use the melody from ‘Greensleeves’ for the music. ‘Greensleeves’ was already one of the most beloved melodies of the festive season at that time, and the song can be dated back to 1642.

We hope that you enjoyed listening to ‘What Child Is This?’ performed by Anthem Lights and Morgan Ranney, and may you have a wonderful Christmas full of love and joy.
