'O Little Town Of Bethlehem' Chris Tomlin Live Performance

Listen to this beautiful rendition by Chris Tomlin of the Christmas carol ‘O Little Town Of Bethlehem.'

“O little town of Bethlehem, how still we see thee lie!
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep the silent stars go by.
Yet in thy dark streets shineth the everlasting light;
The hopes and fears of all the years are met in thee tonight”

There is something so comforting about singing the same Christmas carols each year. ‘O Little Town Of Bethlehem' is one of those classics that just never gets old.

In this video, Chris Tomlin performs the song with musicians and a chorus of people, and they are all singing in front of lit candles and Christmas trees. They all sound wonderful together!

The composer of the famous Christmas carol is Phillips Brooks, and he had visited Bethlehem in December of 1865. While he was there, he rode horseback from Jerusalem to Bethlehem on Christmas Eve and attended the Christmas Eve service at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem.

Years later, in 1868, he used his memories from that trip to write a new Christmas song. And what a beautiful song he created that we are still singing all these years later!

“I remember especially on Christmas Eve, when I was standing in the old church in Bethlehem, close to the spot where Jesus was born, when the whole church was ringing hour after hour with the splendid hymns of praise to God, how again and again it seemed as if I could hear voices I knew well, telling each other of the “wonderful night” of the Savior’s birth,” wrote Phillips Brooks.

We hope that you enjoyed listening to Chris Tomlin’s version of O Little Town Of Bethlehem' today! And may you have a wonderful Christmas celebrating the birth of Jesus!
