Cotton Pickin' Kids Sing 'Christmas In Dixie'

This lovely little bluegrass band is made up of six very talented siblings. Savio (19), Thérèse (17), Cecilia (15), Rosalinda (13), Gianluca (12), and Giovanni (11) have had music playing in their home and hearts throughout their entire lives. It’s no wonder they sound so good!
The siblings started playing their first instruments at different ages. They’ve all competed in a bunch of bluegrass music competitions and even placed and won at some points. Their dad (that you can see playing the upright bass to the left in the video) must be so proud!
Even though the family joined Youtube less than two years ago, they have almost 60,000 subscribers. Their channel has over 8 million views! We are so lucky they decided to share their talents with the world.
The bio on the band’s website says, “They enjoy playing together as a family band and love being creative with their musical arrangements.” And we love listening! There couldn’t be a better Christmas song to play as a family for the holidays than “Christmas in Dixie.”
The country band, Alabama, originally released “Christmas in Dixie” in ‘82. Since then, plenty of huge country singers have recorded their versions to spread southern Christmas cheer. One of the most popular covers came out in the early 2000s from Kenny Chesney.
The band did say that the holiday season is beautiful everywhere, but It’s magical how the lyrics in this song can make you feel like you’re really surrounded by snowy mountains and trees in Tennessee, Alabama, or Georgia.
And, maybe down in Memphis, Graceland's all in lights
And in Atlanta, Georgia, there's peace on earth tonight
Christmas in Dixie, it's snowin' in the pines
Merry Christmas from Dixie, to everyone tonight
