'Danny Boy' Celtic Woman Performs Iconic Tune

Feel the chills as Celtic Woman performs the classic song, ‘Danny Boy.’ This famous tune was written by Frederic Weatherly in 1913. It is actually set to the tune of ‘Londonderry Air,’ a traditional Irish song.

After writing the song, he had acclaimed vocalist Elsie Griffin lend her voice to the melody. Shortly after, it skyrocketed in popularity becoming one of the most memorable songs of all time.

“Oh, Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling,
From glen to glen, and down the mountainside,
The summer's gone, and all the roses falling,
It's you, it's you must go and I must bide.”

Today, the amazing vocalists of Celtic Woman are putting their own spin on the hymn. This incredible all-female group comes from the creators of Riverdance.

Over the years, Celtic Woman has introduced millions to the sounds of Ireland and, in the process, become a global phenomenon. Their pure tones and hauntingly beautiful harmonies put them in a league all their own.

Today, they are performing a true classic with the iconic words of ‘Danny Boy.’ Just listen as they sing this goosebump-inducing rendition.

“But come ye back when summer's in the meadow,
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow,
‘Tis I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow,
Oh, Danny Boy, oh Danny Boy, I love you so!”

Revelation 21:4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
