“Coat of Many Colors” tells the story of Dolly’s mom’s thoughtful hand-stitched gift to her—a vibrant coat made of rags. Even though it showed how poor her family was, Dolly was proud of the coat her mother lovingly made for her. Dolly grew up in a one-room cabin in Locust Ridge, Tennessee, in the Appalachian mountains. She had 11 siblings.
