These Clever Students Figure Out the Teacher's Joke

These clever students figured out the teacher’s joke. Hilariously, it was a joke involving the law, and the youngsters came up with the right punchline. Watch the short, but hilarious clip to hear the educator’s joke and then how quickly the smart, witty kids came up with the punchline.

Everyone loves laughing and having a reason to smile. Can you even think of someone who would rather, instead of laughing, sit expressionless, in total and complete silence, as they remain miserable? Hopefully, you do not. That would most definitely be someone to avoid. They would not be fun at parties, if they even get invited to them, which, being a total buzzkill, probably do not.

Anyway, one way to add a little more laughter to life is through the telling and hearing of jokes. Stand-up comedians do this as a living, but, of course, anyone can tell jokes, even elementary school teachers. A video posted on YouTube shows a teacher, who calls herself “Ms. Pencils Away,” doing this. In fact, she actually tells her class of elementary students jokes every day, which she calls “The Joke of the Day.”

How it usually goes, she instructs her students to “put their pencils away because it’s time for the Joke of the Day.” She will then tell them a joke, giving them the setup and an opportunity to guess the punchline. The kids will give their best guesses, with some students getting pretty close, but never quite there.

However, that all changed with her latest joke. The teacher gave the setup: Who did the otter call when he got arrested? After a handful of really incredibly witty and clever guesses, one student gets the punchline right.

Can you say that you have ever done that? These are elementary students. Did you guess the punchline before the student in the clip?

James 3:1 “Do not all be teachers, my brothers, because we teachers will be judged more harshly than others.”

May we make an effort to remember the historical basis of our faith by reading the Bible––including the books that we might deem as less interesting or important––and apply what they teach in our lives.
