Comedian on Why Taking the Bus to School Was an Education in Itself

A comedian shared why taking the bus to school was an education in itself. The funnyman, Derrick Stroup, mentioned there is a stark difference between people who rode the bus to school and those who did not. Getting an education is important and necessary. The knowledge we acquire will go a long way in determining how financially successful we are in life. Want a good job with fantastic hours and amazing benefits? Studying and learning as much as possible will greatly increase the odds of you landing that coveted position.

However, before someone can get an education, they must first reach the place where facts and figures are dispensed. That’s why most school districts in the country have buses to bring students to and from school. But, like most things in life, just because it’s available, that doesn’t mean you have to use it. Instead, some parents may choose to take their children to school themselves.

However, in a clip posted on YouTube, Derrick stated that he can spot a bus rider and someone who didn’t ride the school bus from a mile away. He added that several factors help him make his quick determination.

“I was a bus rider growing up,” Derrick announced. “I think that helped mold who I am today. Some of y’all were car riders. I know it when I meet you. Your hands are soft. No, you’re not built like a bus rider.”

He added that those who were given car rides to school started their days with love and words of affirmation. Those who rode the school bus, on the other hand, received death threats, imploring them not to miss the bus as it came by.

He compared the bus to the internet before the internet was widely available. The further back you moved on the bus, the more information you learned.

 “It was Google on wheels,” he said. “And the further you went on the back of that bus, the deeper in the internet you got. That last row was the dark web, my man.”
