The animals are on the case in the trailer for “The Sheep Detectives.” It’s clear from the opening moments of this trailer that the criminals had better be looking over their shoulders because not only are the authorities investigating, but so is a flock of sheep. Watch the short but cute and deliriously funny trailer for “The Sheep Detectives.”
Mysteries and whodunits have been and likely always will be incredibly popular. Who doesn’t love a movie, television show or book filled with twists and turns that keep you guessing until the end, when Sherlock Holmes, Hercule Poirot or Nancy Drew spells out who did it, how and why? It really is hard to beat a well-written and original mystery.
Now, in most mysteries and whodunits, those investigating the crime are typically extremely intelligent, clever, perceptive, and detail-oriented individuals who can spot clues that others overlook. Another characteristic of those attempting to solve a crime or mystery is that they are typically human beings. This makes perfect sense, like, wouldn’t a human investigate a crime committed by another human? But what would happen if the investigators weren’t human, but were animals?
That is the case in the upcoming film “The Sheep Detectives.” A flock of sheep puts on their collective thinking caps after their kind and benevolent shepherd, played by Hugh Jackman, was murdered. The cute, four-legged soon get started but quickly discover it’s going to be much more difficult than they initially thought.
The sheep will have to contend with a whole host of questionable characters, including a bumbling and incompetent police officer, who needs all the help he can get. But it’s clear that despite all that might stand in their way, the sheep are determined to solve this crime and figure out who killed their beloved shepherd.
“The Sheep Detectives,” which opens in theaters on May 8, features an all-star cast. Hugh Jackman, Bryan Granstein, Emma Thompson, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Patrick Stewart are just a few of those in the movie.
“The Sheep Detectives” is rated PG for “thematic material, some violent content and brief language.”
Genesis 1:21 “And God created great whales, and every living creature that moves, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.”
