What Does the Bible Say About Temptation?

Welcome to Back to the Bible Daily with Braden Pedersen. In this episode Braden teaches what Scripture says about temptation using James 1:13–15 and 1 Corinthians 10:12–13. He explains three clear truths: being tempted is not the same as sinning, God does not tempt you, and God always provides a way of escape. Practical help is given for spotting the pull early and choosing the door out.
Take action with the 4 R’s:
Read — Read James 1:13–15 and 1 Corinthians 10:12–13 slowly and aloud.
Reflect — Ask: Where does this desire start? When could it be stopped? What escape might God be providing right now?
Respond — Name the temptation, stop the progression early, use a practical escape (walk away, call an accountability partner, confess, pray Scripture, set a hard boundary), and memorize 1 Corinthians 10:13.
Reveal — Share this truth with someone: confess a struggle, invite a friend into accountability, or encourage someone by explaining the promise of a way of escape.
